New Character Design

This could be it!!

I have spent the past 2 months coming up with a design for my 4th year project. This is the 4th iteration for Louie and it could be the last. I've been so frustrated lately with this project. The frustration would sometimes have me questioning this career path.

If this whole animation thing doesn't work out for me...I dunno what I'm going to do

3rd Year Finishes. 4th Year Begins.

Our group film is finished and awesome. I haven't posted anything for a while but thats because the film has taken most of my time. I haven't posted the film itself because there's still a few things that need fixing. I'm really happy with how it turned out and very excited to enter the film in a bunch of film festivals. I'm going to miss working with everyone that was involved with this project. I've learned so much about the process of making a film and I've gotten closer with many of my classmates. This year was truly a great year and I'm definitely going to miss working with such talented artist.

At the moment I'm preparing myself for my work term at Pipeline Studios. I also plan on getting my 4th year film boarded out over the summer. The sketch above is the character I plan on using for my short film. He looks like a Ghostbuster but he's actually just an old man who wants to vacuum up clouds.

This is an update for a character design that I did a few weeks ago. I really hated everything about the original version but had no time to fix the small things. I thought it be cool to show the old and new version.

Group Film Leica Reel

The final product of a whole semester of brainstorming. So much has changed from the original concept. I can personally say I am very pleased and excited to see the final film. Its going to be a long 4 months from here.

I'm so grateful for having such an awesome group!

Btw Garra Rufa is latin for Doctor Fish

It could be the reason why I chose this career path.

Its amazing how a movie can have such an impact on one's life. =)

Lately I've been juggling a few projects in school. This is the one thats been taking up a majority of my time. Its going to be first piece for my demo reel. I want to make extra sure its perfect.

Stop Motion Assignment 2

Didn't really like how this turned out but I thought it be something cool to post. Half way through this assignment I accidentally bumped into the set. I had to spend a good 10 minutes re-aligning everything. You might notice the little jump at around the 1 second mark.

3D Animation Walk Cycle

Started to learn 3D animation in class. Its a lot harder then I expected. The process is almost the same as doing traditional animation. Hopefully I can master this before school ends so I can get that awesome internship at Pixar. =)

Currently I'm working on my thinking character assignment. I'll post it when I'm done.

Bathroom Layout

Here is the revised layout. The only big difference is the perspective on the shelf to the left. I also added a layer in the foreground because I felt the area below the toilet was empty.

A bathroom layout I did for my action analysis project. I showed it to my layout teacher and he pointed out a lot of mistakes that I didn't see. I've decided to just redo the whole thing. =(

I liked how it turned out but the mistakes haunt me when I sleep.

Stop Motion

In our 3rd year of animation we get to learn stop motion animation. The video above is the first test we did in class. We needed to have the cars nearly collide on frame 13 and then crash on frame 35. We also needed to have one car do two loops while the other car did one loop. It was actually really hard to do. =(
