Gears of War - Marcus Fenix
For this assignment we had to take a well known game character and pop them into a different game. I chose to put Marcus Fenix into the game Team Fortress 2.
I still got to model and texture this bad boy. Stay tuned!

Gas Can
For this assignment we had to model out an object and bring it into UDK editor. I chose the gas can cause it seemed pretty easy to do. Its just a cylinder with a bunch of small cylinders attached to it. I just wanted to make sure I did this project properly and learn the steps involved when making hard surface models for games.
This is my highpoly model...
…and this is my lowpoly model…
unwrap and texture...
….and……BAM…loaded onto UDK.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
this post has got to be the least christmasy thing ever -_-
its a gas can.

zBrush MODELS
My first attempt at zbrush.
So HARD to get hard surfaces. But so awesome to get wrinkles and organic shapes.

The Adventures of Seneca's Gaming Program Part 1
The layout above was made using assets from the Unreal Tournament Editor. Its pretty fun! Its like playing Sims but with no restrictions. We had to basically construct a mechanical room using certain packages.
The "Afro-Man-Spider" was our first modeling assignment. We had to create a character using simple shapes. Mostly spheres and cyclinders.
I'll keep you guys posted! More tree-D projects coming soon!

Old Stuff

Haven't posted anything for a while so I thought I'd show you guys pictures that might not have been seen in my film. These images were meant to give the viewer a little history of my character. I tried to make them small enough for people to not notice after the first viewing.I just love it when you watch an old movie and you pick up on things you didn't see the first time around. Its what makes a movie worth watching several times and it encourages audience participation.

Anime Expo 2011!!!
Just came back from the Anime Expo which was held at the Staples Convention Centre in LA. I had tons of fun and made a lot of new friends. My booth was located at the very far back and my very westernized style of cartoons didn't really help with sales. -_-
The picture above is the booth I shared with my good friend Minh Nguyen. His prints were more of what the people were looking for.

Above are the 3 prints I sold at the convention. Out of the 3, my top seller was the Totoro piece which people thought looked really creepy and funny.
From now till the start of September I'll probably be working to improve my character designs. I'm also going to try and learn 3D software to prepare me for my studies at Seneca College. I'll keep you guys posted! =)

Online Portfolio Website
So school's finished and now I'm looking for work. I've spent the past month working on my portfolio website and applying to jobs.
I understand that its still early and that I've just graduated, but I still feel unprepared to work in this industry. Most of the job postings are for 3D artist and I've spent the past 4 years trying to become a better 2D artist. The program taught us 3D but that was only for a semester or two. They taught us the basics hoping that we would pick it up afterwards to learn the more difficult aspects on our own. I was one of the many that believed if we had a strong 2D portfolio, we could land a job in a 3D studio that would teach us how to use the software. The reality is a studio would much rather hire someone who knows the software.
So anyways, I've decided to take the gaming program at Seneca college! In the meantime, I'm looking for freelance positions to keep me busy over the summer.
Check out my new online portfolio!

Done SCHOOL!!....now what?!
The last 4 years have been the greatest 4 years in my life! I'm going to miss everyone. The friends I've made in the past couple of years are some of the most talented and dedicated people I have ever met. I keep on dreaming for the day we all join together to make some kind of awesome studio. In the meantime, I hope for everyone to find a job and to just be happy.
FILM is almost finished!!! I just wanted to make it look pretty for the film festivals I'm planning to enter.
In the meantime....here are some of the layouts from my film.
